Young duo in theater cabaret

Salem Community Theatre will host “An Accident Waiting to Happen: A Musical Cabaret,” featuring Carly Magnuson and Nathan Robert Pecchia, at 7:30 p.m. June 15 and 16.

The duo, who have appeared on stage in many local productions, will perform their favorite ballads and duets from the golden and contemporary ages of musical theater.

Magnuson, 19, of Canfield, is a freshman musical theater and hospitality management major at Youngstown State University.

She played Hodel in SCT’s production of “Fiddler on the Roof” and Natalie in Spotlight Players’ “Next to Normal.”

She also had lead roles in Spotlight’s “Sweeney Todd” and SCT’s “Honky Tonk Angels.”

Pecchia, 17, is a junior at Canfield High. He played Motel in SCT’s “Fiddler on the Roof” and Herb in Move Over Broadway Productions’ “Godspell.”

Providing piano accompaniment will be Alex Marr, 19, a Kent State University student and Poland High School graduate.
