Yo-Mah-O announces member of the year

The Yo-Mah-O Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals has announced that Nancy Brett has been chosen as the 2011-2012 Member of the Year.

Brett attended Cardinal Mooney High School and Youngstown State University. She received an associate degree in business management and accounting from ITT Technical Institute. Later, she received an associate degree in information technology and computer network systems, also from ITT.

She was employed at Valley Drug in Youngstown and New Castle, Pa., until they closed in 2006. She began working part time as an office assistant at Youngstown CityScape, where she is still employed.

Brett joined the local chapter of IAAP in 2005. She has served on numerous committees including Education and Community Service. She is the chairwoman of the Attendance and Courtesy Committee. She sat for the IAAP certification exam and received her Certified Administrative Professional certification in 2009.

In other arenas Brett serves as president of the Mahoning Valley Ohio Unit of the Airstream Club and editor of the Unit Newsletter, MVOU News. She received her Amateur Radio Technician Class License, KD8QNY, and enjoys volunteering at local events.

She and her husband, David Brett, live in Poland. They have two children, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. They enjoy traveling in their Airstream trailer, their “home away from home.”
