Man drowns when car crashes into pond

MEADVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania State Police say a man is dead after crashing his car into a pond at a northwestern Pennsylvania campground, where the coroner says the man drowned.

Troopers from the Meadville barracks say the incident happened just after 10 p.m. Monday at the KOA Camp Ground in East Mead Township. That’s about 90 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Police say 60-year-old Kenneth Edeburn lost control of his car on Pa. Route 27, hitting several trees before sinking in the pond.

Edeburn was taken to the Meadville Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Crawford County Coroner Scott Schell says the man drowned.
