A large fallen tree that bent a metal footbridge over Yellow Creek and cracked its concrete foundation likely will be removed Tuesday or Wednesday, a Mill Creek MetroParks police dispatcher said Sunday.

The tree, 5 to 6 feet in circumference and presumed to have fallen Friday night or Saturday morning, was discovered toppled over the bridge in Yellow Creek Park at 8 a.m. Saturday, a park police report said. Barricades were installed Sunday.

The bridge leads from the main entrance area of the park to a creek-side hiking trail in the gorge. The park and the trail remain open.
