Summer arts fest seeks volunteers

YOUNGSTOWN

The 14th annual Summer Festival of the Arts, July 7 and 8 at and around Youngstown State University, is seeking volunteers.

Volunteers are needed for artist registration, information booths, the children’s hands-on art tent, technical assistance at performance sites and the Festival of Nations international area, along with other tasks. Various shifts are available. Each volunteer receives a festival T-shirt, cold water and reserved free parking.

Those needing service hours logged, such as for the National Honor Society, or sorority or fraternity service, are encouraged to participate. Service verification forms will be completed, said Lori Factor, festival coordinator.

Playhouse presents ‘Broadway Bound’

new Castle, Pa.

Neil Simon’s “Broadway Bound” will open Friday at the Annex Theatre, New Castle Playhouse, 212 E. Long Ave. The show is directed by Paul Angelucci and will run for nine performances including Friday through next Sunday, June 8-10 and June 15-17. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m.
