Southern Park Mall to add Tilly’s store

Simon Property Group Inc. announced Southern Park Mall will welcome a new retailer to its list of more than 120 specialty stores.

Tilly’s, a specialty retailer in the action-sports industry selling clothing, shoes and accessories, will open in August.

Tilly’s offers one of the largest assortments of brands and merchandise from the top players in the surf, skate, motocross and lifestyle apparel industries available.

Tilly’s will take the 8,818 square feet of space formerly occupied by Abercrombie & Fitch.

Cheddar’s Casual Cafe, which will be on the mall’s property, is under construction and is scheduled to open this fall.

Shred documents at Secure Your ID day

Better Business Bureau and its partner, Shred It, are having a Secure Your ID day Saturday at the Covelli Centre in downtown Youngstown.

Businesses and consumers are encouraged to attend the event and take a step in identity protection by shredding and properly disposing of sensitive paper documents.

Bring up to five standard-size boxes or bags of documents to be shredded and take home the tips and resources you need to help protect yourself.

Documents to be shredded should be removed from binders, but staples and paper clips can be shredded.

The event is from 9 a.m. to noon at the center,229 E. Front St.

Taylor-Winfield teams with EWI

Taylor-Winfield Technologies Inc. has joined Edison Welding Institute to support Taylor-Winfield’s development of new and traditional material joining and process solutions for industrial applications.

EWI is a world-renowned research and development organization for the manufacturing industry. It is in Columbus.

Taylor-Winfield, a part of The Brilex Group of Companies of Youngstown, is dedicated to delivering advanced manufacturing technologies and process solutions.

Shenango chamber adds marketing tool

The Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced a new digital and social-media marketing tool for all members of the chamber and the community.

The chamber worked with a local digital product design firm.

The idea is to provide business owners a low-cost, zero-risk marketing product that does not disrupt normal daily operations.

The chamber is in the midst of developing an iPhone and Android app that connects the local small- business community into one central location.
