The city of Youngstown has announced the recipients of its annual grant program for downtown events:

Youngstown Area Community Concert Band, Paramount Project spring concert benefit, date not set, Central Square or DeYor Performing Arts Center, $1,600.

Silly Science Sunday, Oh Wow! Children’s Center of Science and Technology, Sept. 23, a second-year festival on West Federal Street between Phelps and Market streets, $2,000

Mediterranean-Middle Eastern Festival, Sept. 22, a first-year event on West Federal Street between Phelps and Hazel streets, $1,200.

Kwame Kilpatrick book tour, Hot Topix Book Club, June 30, DeYor Performing Arts Center, $2,000.
