Pets for Patriots will team up with HSCC

The Humane Society of Columbiana County, 1825 S. Lincoln Ave., has been designated as a Trusted Shelter by the Pets for Patriots Program, a partner network of not-for-profit animal welfare organizations.

Veterans who want to honorably adopt a new pet through the program are offered a 25 percent discount if they qualify and meet the regular adoption criteria.

The program will be showcased at the flag raising ceremony at noon on Memorial Day at the Salem-Lisbon KOA Campground, 33807 Winona Road, south of Salem.
