Poland swim and tennis club hosts open house
The Poland Swimming and Tennis Club is hosting its first-ever Family Open House June 2 from noon to 4 p.m., an event that is open to the public.
“We want the community to enjoy a day of family fun at our community’s swim club,” said Christine Eich, director of membership for the Poland Swim Club. “If you ever thought about joining the Poland Swim Club, but never actually had a chance to experience it first-hand, the open house is a great opportunity to see and enjoy all the club has to offer.”
Single adults, seniors and empty-nesters are also invited to the event.
Those who attend, visitors and club members, will receive a gift certificate for a guest pass at the club one day of their choosing during June.
The Poland Swim Club, located at 6072 Clingan Road, features a heated pool and fenced-in toddler pool, tennis courts, playground area, bocce, volleyball and basketball courts, free Wifi, Cocca’s Pizza snack bar, as well as three picnic pavilions available for special events.
“We just finished installing our new gaga pit, which is sure to be a big hit with the kids,” Eich said.
The club’s board of directors will be available during the event to answer questions and sign up anyone interested in joining. Families and individuals who join by June 15 will receive a free pavilion party with pizza for 50.
The Poland Swim Club provides free group swimming lessons for members and the opportunity for their children and teens to join swimming and tennis teams. Adult tennis leagues take place during the evenings. Ladies’ events occur in the mornings as well.
The club’s swim team competes in the Youngstown Swim League.
“My family has greatly enjoyed our membership at the Poland Swim Club and one of the best things is spending time together as a family,” said Sam Landry, president of the Poland Swim Club.
“The Poland Swim Club was established in 1958. The pool was expanded 10 years ago into an L-shape with two 25-meter legs. The office and restrooms were updated a few years ago. The restrooms offer private changing areas and showers.
All children attending the open house must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Light refreshments will be served.
In the event of inclement weather, the open house will be held the following day, June 3, from noon to 4 p.m.
