Busy weekend at Sharon and Mercer tracks

The FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Touring Series will highlight weekend racing at Sharon Speedway.

Racing is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday and 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Open Stock Cars, HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods, and the Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks will compete both days, while the United E-Mod Series will race on Saturday and the Governor Insurance Agency DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds on Sunday.

The Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC Pace Performance FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Touring Series will be the featured attraction as part of the Bill Emig Memorial “Wild Card” Weekend. The Barris Supply FASTRAK Late Models will race for $1,500 to-win each night in addition to the “Wild Card Weekend” point fund that will pay the top five drivers from the weekend with the champion receiving $500. Also, extra money will be on the line each night with the John Buzzard Memorial “K&N Cold Air Induction” Dashes.

The Touring Series has been featured nine times at Sharon over the past three seasons with seven different winners. Josh Holtgraver enters the weekend with victories each of the last two years during the Memorial Day Weekend event, while Series point leader Max Blair is the only other repeat winner.

Pit passes are $30 each day. Two-day grandstand passes are available for $25.

MERCER RACEWAY PARK

There will be six divisions of racing on Saturday, then the All American Spring Nationals World Championship pulling event will take place on Sunday.

Gates will open at 4 and racing will begin at 7 on Saturday. Regular event pricing will be in effect. Pits will open Sunday at 2:30, while front gates will open at 4. Pulling will begin at 6:30.

Special event pricing on Sunday will be $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and $7 for students. Children ages 8 and under are free. The Family Pass, good for two adults and up to four children of any age, will be just $35. The Pit Passes will be $25.
