A time line of events related to the murder of Angeline Fimognari and the investigation that followed:

December 2009: Duane Colvin is released from prison after serving 14 years.

Jan. 23, 2010: Angeline Fimognari, 80, is shot and killed in the parking lot of a South Side church.

Jan. 29, 2010: Jamar Houser, 20, arrested and charged with murder.

March 4, 2010: Grand jury indicts Houser on capital-murder charges in the slaying of Fimognari.

March 16, 2010: Houser arraigned in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court on murder charges.

March 25, 2010: Attorneys argue over DNA evidence left on the surface of Fimognari’s car at the time of the shooting.

iApril 7, 2010: Houser’s parents plead guilty to amended charges related to intimidating witnesses in their son’s case.

April 12, 2010: Houser trial date postponed.

Sept. 25, 2011: Colvin, 32, found dead in a field between houses on Ferndale Avenue.

Jan. 9, 2012: Houser jury trial postponed.

Jan. 30, 2012: Jury trial postponed.

Feb. 8, 2012: John Houser charged a second time with intimidating witnesses in his son’s case.

March 16, 2012: Jamar Houser jury trial postponed.

March 19, 2012: Jury trial postponed.

April 24, 2012: Two witnesses come for- ward saying Colvin confessed the Fimognari murder.

April 27, 2012: Jamar Houser jury trial postponed.

May 1, 2012: John Houser sentenced to one year in prison on amended charges related to threatening witnesses in his son’s case a second time.

May 14, 2012: Jamar Houser jury trial postponed.

May 17, 2012: Duane Colvin’s body is exhumed and his palm print compared to a print left on Fimognari’s car at the time of the murder.

May 22, 2012: Prosecutors are informed the palm print left on Fimognari’s car matches Colvin’s palm print.

May 24, 2012: Murder charges against Houser are dismissed, and he is released from the county jail.
