Man gunned down outside bar

WASHINGTON, Pa. (AP) — A New York man is dead after police say he was gunned down outside a southwestern Pennsylvania bar where he had been drinking with friends.

Police in Washington, Pa. say the shooting happened about 12:30 a.m. Thursday outside Pickle’s in this city about 20 miles southwest of Pittsburgh.

Police Lt. Daniel Stanek says 23-year-old Rensfield Jarvis was shot several times and left in the street. Police believe he was alone when he left the bar and went outside, but are hoping surveillance video from nearby businesses might offer clues as to who shot him or why.

Police say Jarvis recently moved to the area from an unspecified part of New York and had been staying with relatives.

Police towed a car from the scene after nobody claimed it, but aren’t sure if it’s connected to the shooting.
