Campbell police have made two arrests in the armed robbery of a pizza- delivery driver.

The 20-year-old Youngstown woman was delivering a pizza to an apartment on Kendall Avenue around 10:30 p.m. April 29 when she was robbed at gunpoint by a man who came around the side of the apartment building.

Police said that from her description of the gun, they believe it was an AK-47 assault rifle.

Arrested in the robbery Wednesday was Cary Clinkscale, 19, of Reed Avenue in Campbell. He was set to be arraigned today in municipal court on charges of aggravated robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a defaced firearm.

Campbell Detective Sgt. John Rusnak said an officer spotted Clinkscale walking out of a store and he was arrested on a warrant. He had a handgun on him which had the serial number scratched off, Rusnak said.

Police arrested Pierre Shelton, 18, of Fairgreen Avenue in Youngstown on May 12. Youngstown police turned him over to Campbell on a warrant. He was charged with aggravated robbery and arraigned May 15. His case was bound over to a Mahoning County grand jury.

Rusnak said police were able to trace the two through cellphone records. He said Shelton’s cell phone was used to order the pizza. The delivery driver was given a fake name.

Rusnak said police did not find the AK-47.
