NJ stabbing victims were elderly mother, daughter
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — Authorities identified a Canadian mother and daughter as the victims in Monday’s fatal stabbings on an street in Atlantic City, N.J.
The Atlantic County prosecutor’s office says 80-year-old Po Lin Wan and her 47-year-old daughter, Alice Mei See Leung , were killed by a Philadelphia woman across the street from Bally’s Atlantic City. The women were from Scarborough, Ontario.
Antoinette Pelzer is charged with murder and is being held on $1.5 million bail. Her aunt says Pelzer has been homeless and mentally ill for years.
An autopsy showed the older woman died from being stabbed in the heart, while her daughter bled to death.
The attacks took place a half a block away from a hospital trauma center, and a police officer who saw the stabbings in progress arrested Pelzer.
