Mathews defeats Jackson-Milton in regional softball

Cheyenne Eggens tossed a 1-hitter to lead Mathews over Jackson-Milton, 5-3, in a Division IV regional softball semifinal game at Kent State University on Wednesday.

Eggens had 10 strikeouts and no walks for the Mustangs, who will play in the regional final on Saturday at noon.

Tabby Granelly hit a two-run triple for Mathews, which rallied from a 3-1 deficit after three innings.
