Veterans’ graves to be decorated in Poland

Grave decorating at Poland Riverside Cemetery for the upcoming Memorial Day holiday will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Members of American Legion Mahoning Valley Post 15, American Legion Auxiliary Mahoning Valley Unit 15, and Sons of the American Legion Mahoning Valley Squadron 15 will be joined by local Boy, Cub and Girl Scouts to place flags on veterans’ graves.

Families are asked to have their flag holders in place for the decorating, which will take place rain or shine. Anyone interested in participating should be at the cemetery at 8:55 a.m. and meet at the first driveway behind the chapel, where parking is available.

Also, children are encouraged to decorate their bikes in red, while and blue and be at Baird Mitchell Field no later than 9:45 a.m. Monday to participate in the community’s annual parade.

Anyone owning a convertible or antique car who would like to participate in the parade should call 330-757-8722 and should plan to arrive at Post 15 no later than 9 a.m. Monday.

Those owning motorcycles who would like to participate in the parade should call 330-565-5333 and plan to be at the post no later than 9:30 a.m.

Marshals will be available for directions for all parade participants.
