Bogart’s son to help fundraise
LUCAS, Ohio
The oldest child of actors Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall is helping to raise money to renovate part of the Ohio farm where the pair married in 1945.
The News Journal in Mansfield reports Stephen Bogart will make his first visit to Malabar Farm from June 1-3. The meet-and-greets and special meals are part of a fundraising campaign to help renovate the mansion on the property.
The farm founded by celebrity author Louis Bromfield in 1939 is now part of a state park.
Houston’s last recording
NEW YORK
Whitney Houston’s final recording is being released.
The song, “Celebrate,” is a duet with Jordin Sparks from Houston’s last movie, a remake of the film “Sparkle.”
The song debuted Monday on Ryan Seacrest’s website and will be available on iTunes on June 5.
Houston’s death in February at age 48 came as the singer had been attempting a comeback and had finished filming “Sparkle.” The film opens Aug. 17.
George Jones hospitalized
NASHVILLE, Tenn.
Country music star George Jones is in the hospital again with a respiratory infection.
A spokesman says the 80-year-old singer was hospitalized Monday afternoon in Nashville, Tenn., and that concert dates through June will be rescheduled where possible.
The “White Lightning” singer was due to return to the stage this weekend at the Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. Jones will miss about seven shows in Georgia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Arizona and Nevada.
McGraw starts on new label
NASHVILLE, Tenn.
Tim McGraw has chosen a new record label run by an old friend.
The country music superstar has signed a multi-album deal with Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Records, officially ending his acrimonious relationship with his only previous label, Curb Records.
McGraw made the announcement Monday at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
