Austintown man headed to federal prison for child porn


YOUNGSTOWN — A convicted sex offender from Austintown is headed back to prison for the next 140 months after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography.

Jimmie D. Davis, 35, of Austintown, appeared today before U.S. District Judge James S. Gwin, for sentencing on the child-pornography charge. Davis had previously entered a guilty plea to the crime before Judge Gwin.

Gwin ordered Davis to be committed to the Federal Bureau of Prisons for a term of 140 months. He will receive credit for the time he has served in federal custody. He could have been sentenced to as much as 20 years in federal prison.

Upon his release, Davis will be placed on probation for a period of 25 years.
