Ohio's second casino is all about convenience

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Ohio’s latest casino isn’t billing itself as a destination resort.

The Hollywood Casino in Toledo that will open in just over a week doesn’t have a hotel or spa.

What it features is convenience. There’s free parking and one floor devoted to slot machines, gaming tables and restaurants.

Operators of Ohio’s second casino gave the media a sneak preview of the $320 million casino on today.

It’s designed to look like a grand art deco movie house inside and out. Movie posters and photos of Hollywood greats adorn the walls above the brightly lit slot machines.

Casino officials expect most of their customers to come from within a short distance of Toledo.

The casino opens May 29, just two weeks after the state’s first casino opened in downtown Cleveland.
