Three Div. II boys qualify for state

Warren JFK’s Jad Abdul-Aal finished fourth in singles, as Lakeview’s doubles team of Zack McDivitt and Aaron Paczak in the finals of the Division II district tennis championships.
Playing at Weis Park courts, Abdul-Aal lost his semifinal match to Billy Lennon of University School, 6-3, 6-3.
He then lost to Dhruv Yadav of Hawken, 6-3, 7-6 (5), in the consolation final.
Abdul-Aal will still play in next week’s state championships at the Ohio State University courts.
Lennon lost the championship match to Max Kan of Orange, 6-1, 6-0.
McDivitt and Paczak were defeated by Hawken’s Siddarth Ahuja and Daniel Lubarsky, 6-2, 6-3, in the championship semifinals.
The Lakeview duo then lost to University’s Danny Huang and Lukas Zalesky, 6-2, 7-6 (6) in the consolation final.
The Hawken team defeated Gilmour’s Weston Noall and Mike Riley, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3, in the championship.
DIVISION I
OBERLIN
Canfield’s doubles team of Will Brown and Nicholas Debiec finished one win shy of qualifying for the state championships.
Playing at the Oberlin College courts, Brown and Debiec lost to Tyler Sarver and Tim Bruin of North Canton Hoover, 6-4, 6-3, in the consolation semifinals on Saturday.
Colton Buffington of Westlake was singles champion, and Revere’s Noah Hendrickson and Peter Harris won the doubles title.
