Youngstown club announces “Mother of the Year 2012”

The Youngstown Mothers of Twins Club recently honored Michele Porter as the 2012 Mother of the Year.She will represent the local group at the annual Ohio Federation of Mothers of Twins convention June 22 and 23 in Columbus.

Porter is the mother of 8-year-old twins, Michael and Matthew, and is married to Tim Porter. She is serving as this year’s club president, has held various offices and served on many committees, and is leading the group’s participation in this year’s March of Dimes Walk, which will take place Sunday. She was instrumental in organizing the group’s annual May rummage sale and in updating its by-laws. She regularly attends Ohio Federation Board meetings and conventions throughout the state.

Porter is a CPA employed at the State of Ohio Auditor’s office in Youngstown as an audit manager. She is active in the McDonald Elementary School PTO, where her sons attend school. She and her family attend Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in McDonald.
