ODNR issues second drilling permit in Trumbull County

The second horizontal-drilling permit has been issued in Trumbull County by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

It was issued to Carizo Oil and Gas on May 9. The location of the well is in Hartford Township on Hayes Orangeville Road between Youngstown Conneaut and Hartford Street near the Shenango Wilderness Area.

The first permit for drilling in Trumbull County was issued April 16 in Vienna Township.

ODRN also issued another permit May 9. Chesapeake Energy received a permit in Columbiana County in Knox Township. The permit is for a location on Buck Road between Westville-Lake Road and Georgetown- Damascus Road.

These are the 36th and 37th horizontal-drilling permits issued this year for Mahoning, Columbiana and Trumbull counties.

The ODNR does not list any local wells as being in production at this time.
