Dozens of children sang, danced and bounced the day away as Austintown Bounce hosted kid-friendly band Hey Kid! for a concert May 5.

Before the band struck up the music, officials at Austintown Bounce offered all-day play on the inflatable castles and obstacle courses inside the facility. Hey Kid! then entertained the crowd with original tunes like “Pirate the Pirate” and “The Bubblegum Ball Kid.”

The band, which includes members Leigh Jaffer, Joe Falleti and Jack Savage, offered plenty of interaction as well as special props to involve kids in many of the songs. Guest Kristy Francis, who brought a group of five enthusiastic guests, found the concert to be a pleasant surprise.

“We have friends visiting us from New York, so I thought a day at Austintown Bounce would be really fun. We didn’t know about the concert beforehand but I’m glad they’re hosting it today. It worked out well and made it an exciting day for our guests,” Francis explained.

Cleveland native Colleen Novosel was another guest who came from miles away for the concert. Novosel, who is a relative of Hey Kid! bassist Joe Falleti, brought her twins and mother-in-law to enjoy the show.

“This is our third Hey Kid! show and it’s worth our drive. We own their CD and we know all the words to the songs,” Novosel said.
