A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

May 7

Harassment: A Candywoods Drive girl said she has been harassed.

Theft: The rear license-plate was stolen off a vehicle in the 6600 block of Katahdin Drive.

May 8

Theft: A Dobbins Road woman reported the theft of $2,989 worth of jewelry from her daughter’s bedroom.

Theft: A Center Road woman accused a family member of taking five personal checks, then cashing them at a Pennsylvania bank for $390 without authorization.

May 10

Breaking and entering: A break-in occurred in the 8200 block of Van Drive through a side door. Stolen were two motors, a crossbow package and numerous tools, for a $5,870 loss.

Harassment: A Woodland Avenue woman reported phone harassment.

May 11

Harassment: A Stewart Road woman reported having been a victim of phone harassment.

May 11

Identity fraud: A Mathews Road man found out his personal information had been used without consent to create two Facebook pages and post potentially libelous information about him.

Auto theft: A 2000 Ford Escort was stolen in the 100 block of Erskine Avenue.

Criminal damaging: A pair of scissors and a piece of broken glass were used to scratch and do an estimated $1,500 in paint damage to a car in the 100 block of Shields Road.

Theft: A $220 aluminum trunk box was removed from a truck at a business in the 6900 block of Southern Boulevard.

Misuse of a credit card: An elderly Devonshire Drive woman learned that her credit card had been used without permission to make three online transactions.

Harassment: An Oles Avenue woman accused her mother of leaving unwanted messages online and by phone.

Arrest: Police on Meadowood Circle picked up 41-year-old Jason D. Williams, 1191 Western Reserve Road, Poland. He was accused of failing to appear in court on charges of resisting arrest, failure to comply with police and obstructing official business.

Harassment: A worker for a Market Street restaurant reported having received 12 such calls.

Robbery: A South Schenley Avenue woman told police a man she knows pointed a handgun at her before she gave him an $800 laptop computer and $200. A short time later, authorities pulled over and detained the man but did not find the stolen property in the car, a report said.

Theft: A $200 iPod was stolen from a vehicle at Southern Park Mall.

Theft: Two Youngstown girls, both 17, were charged with stealing miscellaneous clothing and accessories from Kohl’s, 383 Boardman-Poland Road. One of the girls faced additional charges of obstructing official business and resisting arrest when, police said, she refused to get out of the car and fought with officers who tried to remove her.

Theft: Two 30-pound propane tanks were stolen from a trailer in the 7100 block of South Avenue.

Theft: Jason R. Stiner, 27, of 2286 Chaney Circle, Youngstown, and Angela M. Ceroli, 28, of Taylor Street, Hubbard, faced charges of theft and possession of criminal tools after four pairs of shorts, a shirt and a seven-piece wrench set were stolen from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Stolen property: A 17-year-old Youngstown girl faced misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen property and misuse of credit cards after police said she had in her purse a wallet that had been stolen from a woman shopping at Southern Park Mall.

Stalking: A Forest Park Drive woman said another woman in a vehicle followed the accuser, then sent unwanted text messages to her.

Identity theft: A township woman found out someone had made $3,400 worth of unauthorized purchases with her credit card in a two-day period.

Theft: A Youngstown man discovered $742 and two other items missing from his wallet while at St. Elizabeth Health Center’s Boardman Campus, 8401 Market St.

Attempted breaking and entering/damage: Someone tried to enter a shed in the 700 block of Oakridge Avenue and used a sharp object to cut the strings to a hammock in the yard.

Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Mathews Road man said his girlfriend took his 2000 Cadillac vehicle without permission.

Arrest: Paula Leeper, 44, of 2504 Trentwood Drive SE, Warren, was arrested by township police who assisted at an Austintown OVI checkpoint. She was charged with operating a vehicle impaired.

May 13

Drug paraphernalia: Matthew R. Ebert, 19, of 8134 Loneview Drive, Warren, and Andrew T. Zigmont, 21, of 913 Avalon Drive, Warren, were charged with underage consumption of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia, respectively, during a traffic stop on Boardman-Poland Road when, authorities said, two devices commonly used to grind marijuana and a suspected marijuana pipe were found.

Breaking and entering: A rear-door window was smashed at Antone’s Italian Grille, 720 Boardman-Canfield Road, likely with a crowbar. Nothing appeared to be missing, however.

Arrest: Police responded to a heated argument in the 60 block of Washington Boulevard before arresting 23-year-old Keith Nunez, 738 Porter Ave., Campbell, on a charge of violating a protection order. Nunez was at a woman’s apartment in violation of the civil-protection order, a report showed.

Criminal mischief: Someone tossed eggs at a car in the 6700 block of Appleridge Circle, causing possible paint damage.

Harassment: A Huntington Drive man said he got seven threatening emails.

Theft: An Argyle Avenue man told police a woman stole a $400 firearm from his home.

Theft: Officers charged 26-year-old Zachary J. Capron, 1411 Elberon Ave., Salem, with theft and possession of criminal tools. Capron was accused of stealing a global-positioning-system unit, a battery pack and two other items from Walmart and using a small pocket knife or similar tool to open several plastic boxes.

Theft: Cassandra L. Stroka, 19, of 773 E. Sixth St., Salem, and Bradford L. Kibler Jr., 2020 Monroe Ave., Salem, were charged in the theft of $153 worth of children’s clothing from Macy’s in Southern Park Mall. Both were released on summonses.

May 14

Theft: Several people left Denny’s Restaurant, 154 Boardman-Canfield Road, in a silver Chrysler sport-utility vehicle without paying a $22 food bill.
