Diagnostic center set to open Monday

NEW CASTLE, PA.

Sharon Regional Health System is opening its new Neshannock Diagnostic and Specialty Center, a satellite medical facility at 2915 Wilmington Road, on Monday.

The Neshannock Diagnostic and Specialty Center will bring specialty physicians to Lawrence County in the areas of cardiology, orthopedics/spine surgery, pulmonology, general surgery and vascular surgery, along with a full complement of diagnostic tests including walk in laboratory and X-ray services, cardiac-vascular-general ultrasound, EKGs and Holter monitors for cardiac patients. X-ray services will be available Aug. 1.

Safety training

The American Red Cross of the Mahoning Valley is offering Safety Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at its training center, 8381 Market St., Boardman. The training includes Adult CPR, how to use the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Standard 1st Aid. The cost is $90. Registration is required by Friday. Call 1-800-733-2767. Open house

Lake Vista Retirement Community, 303 N Mecca St. (state Route 46), is having a grand opening and open house at its new rehabilitation center today from 3 to 5 p.m. Refreshments will be available.

Rabies vaccination

NORTH LIMA

The Mahoning County District Board of Health is offering a rabies vaccination clinic for dogs, cats and ferrets Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Beaver Township Fire Department, 601 West South Range Road, North Lima.

No appointment is necessary. The cost is $6 per shot. Pet owners must have their pets on a leash, in a cage or carried in a pillowcase. Participating in the clinic are Dr. Lisa Kurtz and the East Park Veterinary Clinic in Columbiana.

Awareness walk

WARREN

The fifth annual Survivors of Suicide Awareness Walk is Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Trumbull County Courthouse Square in downtown Warren. The walk is in memory of loved ones who died by suicide. Families, friends and the public are invited to attend and urged to bring photos or signs to highlight the loss of loved ones to suicide. The event is sponsored by Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide (LOSS); Help Hotline Crisis Center Inc.; and Survivors of Suicide (SOS) of Mahoning and Columbiana Counties. Appreciation day

YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning-Youngs-town Community Action Partnership (MYCAP) is celebrating Community Action Month with a Community Appreciation Day Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 101 Federal Plaza, Suite 200.

There will be refreshments, Head Start enrollment and information on other programs. Also, visitors will be asked to complete a short survey on what they think about MYCAP and what services they want for the community.

New X-ray services offered in Hubbard

Advanced Chiropractic and Rehab Inc., with offices in Hubbard and Boardman, is offering new X-ray services at its Hubbard facility, 730 N. Main St. Advanced Chiropractic has hired Amanda Loomis, a licensed radiology technician to help run the radiology department; and staff member Angela Peterson recently passed the state board examination for her general X-Ray machine operators license.
