WEDNESDAY

Lockwood United Methodist Church, 4570 Lockwood Blvd., Boardman, is having a free community dinner and garden party from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today. There will be chicken and wild rice, vegetable, salad, rolls, dessert and beverages.

THURSDAY

Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland, will sponsor a takeout-only beef tips and noodles dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Tickets are $7 each, and the meal comprises sirloin angus beef tips, noodles, mixed vegetables, roll and butter, and a cookie. FRIDAY

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi per person while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $5 a dozen. Orders should be placed from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday or 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-746-9528, and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $5 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up beginning at noon. A limited supply of frozen pirogi will be available. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available. The last sale of the season will be May 25.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi on Fridays. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 a.m. Friday, based upon availability. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday; walk-in orders will be available.

SATURDAY

Bessemer Presbyterian Church, 29 N. Main St., Bessemer, Pa., is planning a ham loaf dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling the church office at 724-667-7255. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 6 to 12. Those 5 and under are free. There will be a limited number of tickets sold at the door. Takeouts will be available. Proceeds will benefit the church’s building fund.

Calvary Baptist Church, 1463 Shields Road, Boardman, is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The meal comes with meatballs, Italian bread, salad, dessert and a beverage. Dinners cost $6 for adults, $3 for children 4 to 12 and free for those 3 and under. Takeouts are available.

Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave. Ext., North Lima, will have its semiannual chicken barbecue from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The meal consists of half a chicken, baked potato, green beans, applesauce, roll and butter, pie and a beverage. The cost to eat in or carry out is $9 for adults and $6.50 for children.

Cortland United Methodist Church, 155 N. High St., will have its 13th annual Kentucky Mountain Dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The meal will feature sweet potato casserole, honey baked ham, Kentucky corn bread, creamed chicken on biscuit, green beans, bean soup, cobbler or derby pie and a beverage. The cost is $8.50 for adults and $3 for children 3 to 12; those 2 and under eat free. Proceeds will benefit a mission trip to Red Bird Mission in Beverly, Ky.

Northwest Neighborhood Association will serve pasta dinners from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel Ave., Warren. Meals include salad, bread, beverage and dessert. Prices are $6 at the door or $5 in advance. Children under 5 may eat free. Carryouts are available.

SUNDAY

The Historic Lutheran Church of St. John, 1420 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, will serve all-you-can eat spaghetti dinners at noon. Meals include homemade meatballs, bread, dessert and a beverage. Holy Family Church will have a spaghetti dinner sponsored by the church’s Third Source Committee from noon to 4 p.m. at the parish center, 2729 Center Road, Poland. There will be spaghetti and meatballs, garden salad, bread and cake. The cost for eat-in or takeout is $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church will have a pancake brunch sponsored by the church deacons from 12:15 to 2 p.m. in the church social hall, 3919 Southern Blvd., Youngstown. The meal includes sausage and a beverage. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children. Proceeds will be used for the new sound board.

Simon Road Church of God, 4750 Simon Road, Boardman, will host a chicken parmesan and spaghetti dinner at 12:30 p.m. Prices are $8 for adults and $4 for children. Takeouts will be available.

VFW Triangle Post 2799 Auxiliary, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve a homestyle breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. The menu includes eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast, and coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

TAKING ORDERS

First Presbyterian Church of Girard will be selling homemade pepperoni rolls, chicken noodle soup and freshly baked bread Saturday. Pepperoni rolls are $6 each, and the soup is $5 per quart or $3 per pint. Bread is $1.50 a loaf. Soup can be ordered by calling 330-647-7515. Orders must be received by Friday. Pickup at the church, 890 Church Hill Road in Girard, will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Simon Road Church of God, 4750 Simon Road, Boardman, is taking orders for kolachi. The cost is $8 each for nut or apricot. Call 330-542-3884 or 330-953-2933 to order by May 28. Pickup will be from 2 to 4 p.m. June 2 at the church.
