Mahoning County to close South Side Annex
YOUNGSTOWN
Mahoning County intends to close its South Side Annex, 2801 Market St., in September after all its occupants move to Oakhill Renaissance Place and other locations, John A. McNally IV, chairman of the county commissioners, said this morning at a county building commission meeting.
The building commission is expected to award a contract next month for renovations for first floor Oakhill space for the county clerk of courts auto title department, which is now at the annex, said Tracie Kaglic, project manager for Oakhill renovations with Olsavsky-Jaminet Architects.
The goal is to move the title department and its computers over the three-day Labor Day weekend to avoid having to close that department during any business days, she said.
The county health department’s adult day care center will move late this summer from the annex to a location adjacent to the Austintown Senior Center on Westchester Drive, McNally said.
The Mahoning County Violent Crimes Task Force, which includes the FBI, plans to move to a temporary location by early fall, but still would consider a future home at Oakhill if money becomes available to renovate new task force quarters at Oakhill, McNally said.
