Off to prison for man convicted in robbery
YOUNGSTOWN
The Youngstown man who tried to rob a North Side couple in 2010 has been sentenced to two years in prison, but will be released in about five months because he has already served more than 500 days in jail.
Andre Swanson, 34, of Montclair Avenue, was charged with attempted aggravated burglary, felonious assault, obstructing official business, being a convicted felon in illegal possession of a weapon and possession of criminal tools in 2010. Earlier this year, in a plea agreement with prosecutors, he pleaded guilty to one count of attempted aggravated burglary and one count of illegal possession of a weapon.
Swanson appeared Monday for sentencing before Judge Maureen Sweeney of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
