SENIOR CITIZENS


55-Plus of Liberty will have its annual Mother’s Day luncheon at 1 p.m. Thursday at West Fork Roadhouse Restaurant, 3850 Belmont Ave., Youngstown. Kay Herberger will preside, and hostesses will be Mary Presca and Mary Lou Hluchan. There will be a 50-50 raffle and May birthdays will be acknowledged.

55-Plus of Mineral Ridge will meet Tuesday at St. Mary Church. Members dine out after the meeting and card games. Guest speaker will be Dave Gateman, who will discuss senior-citizen issues.

AARP Chapter 4611 will meet Wednesday at St. Augustine Episcopal Church, 614 Parmelee Ave. The executive meeting will begin at 11 a.m., and at noon there will be a memorial service. The Rev. Jack W. Pettis, pastor at Mount Zion Baptist Church, will be the speaker. There are four seats available for the September trip to Washington, D.C. Campbell Memorial High School January and June Classes of 1947 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Denny’s Restaurant in Boardman. All class members and spouses are welcome.

Coitsville Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at Belleria Pizza & Italian Restaurant, 725 McCartney Road, Youngstown; members can order from the menu. Jane Orlo will preside, and Dorothy Churilla will give devotions. Birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged, there will be 50-50 drawing, and Steve Hrycik will call for card bingo. Yearly dues can be given to Mary Jane Guidos.

Croatian Pensioners of the Mahoning Valley will celebrate Founders Day on Thursday. Girard Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Eagles, 26 W. Wilson Ave. May birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged, and reservations will be taken for a picnic June 20 at the Eagles. Bingo and cards will be played. Remember to take a lunch and a beverage.

Happy Wanderers, which meets at Corner House Christian Church, will meet Friday, when Sandra Zikursh will present Betsy Ross in first person. Meet-and-greet begins about 11 a.m., and prayer and lunch will be at noon. Third Baptist Keenagers will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Minister Huldah Oliver of Shiloh Baptist Church will speak. The following items are on the agenda: $30 balance is due for the two-day trip June 15, plans for Hartville shopping and luncheon July 19, and the luncheon and play at Dutch Village Inn on Sept. 21.
