Daughters host party for parents’ 50th anniversary

John and Nancy Daichendt of Boardman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 28 at Drake’s Landing Banquet Center in Canfield. A dinner buffet for 65 friends and family members was hosted by the couple’s three daughters, Cyndi (Darren) White of Huntersville, N.C.; Lori (Frank) Sargent from Boston; and Vicki Rotolo (fianc Larry Wolfe) of Cleveland. Special guests included 10 members of the couple’s original bridal party.
Mr. Daichendt and the former Nancy Lencyk were married April 28, 1962, at St. John the Baptist Polish Church in Campbell.
Mrs. Daichendt retired in 2009 from Professional Risk Management in Boardman, where she worked for 14 years. She was previously employed at Community Mutual/Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Youngstown for 16 years.
Mr. Daichendt retired in 1994 after 30 years as a welder for Youngstown Welding and Engineering in Austintown. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and was stationed in Alaska from 1957 to 1959. He also has a commercial pilot’s license and worked part time from 1960 to 1975 for Executive Air Service in North Jackson while earning his flying time. He is a member of the Quiet Birdmen Fraternity and the A.O.P.A.
