Exterior repairs to the Nathaniel R. Jones Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse are expected to be completed later this spring, according to the U.S. General Services Administration, which manages federally owned buildings.
Both this project and a separate parking-lot replacement and drainage-improvement project at that building will cost significantly more than originally predicted because of extra work added to the jobs, GSA said.
Work remaining to be completed includes staining of concrete at the entrance plaza, resurfacing of stairs leading to the plaza, and replanting of trees and landscaping at the front of the building, said Catherine Langel, a Chicago-based GSA public affairs officer.
Located at 10 E. Commerce St., the building houses U.S. Bankruptcy Court and several federal agencies. It is named for Youngstown native Nathaniel R. Jones, retired judge of the Cincinnati-based 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
