Nick Russell and Dalton Donachie combined for a three-hitter for the Tigers (20-5). Russell (8-0) struck out six through the first six innings before Donachie pitched the final inning, striking out two batters. Russell, Matt Chicase, Cody Pitzo and Brandon Chamberlain had two hits apiece including a double by Russell. Chamberlain and Russell both knocked in two runs. Aaron Suchanec had two hits including doubled for Mathews (16-11).

Mike Ledenko had five RBIs on three hits, one of which was a double, and senior Brendan Cox’s five-hitter included five strikeouts and two walks for JFK (16-4). Senior James Coates had two doubles and a single and Bryan Wolfe also had three hits for the winners. Coates finished with two RBIs, as did Marco Macali and Alec Rossi. John Hilty also added two more of the 17 hits by the Eagles, who play McDonald on Tuesday at Cene Park. For Mineral Ridge (10-15), Michael White had three hits and Dan Ferguson had a triple.

RAVENNA
Jake Mull had a two-hit shutout with seven strikeouts for West Branch (16-11). Brenden Wells, Jacob Clayton, Kip DeShields and Matt Unkefer all had two hits with one of Unkefer’s being a double for the Warriors. Ravenna bowed out 14-8.
Poland 12, Crestwood 4

The Bulldogs advanced to the district semifinals next Thursday at Cene Park to play Canfield at 4:30 p.m. No details from this game were reported.

Boardman 2
CANTON
On the strength of a pair of four-run innings, McKinley (12-12, 3-6) defeated Boardman, preventing the Spartans (15-7, 10-2) from clinching the Federal League title. The teams play at Boardman this morning. Brook Clark had two doubles and drove in a run and Justin iPalmer was 2-3 with a double and three RBI. Joe Isla and Eric Glover-Williams each had two hits. Mike Ranalli (4-2) went the distance, striking out four and retiring 13 of the last 16 batters.
