Police: Man threw hot coffee on clerk

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police in Philadelphia are searching for the man who threw hot coffee on a doughnut shop worker during a dispute about his order.

Investigators say the clerk was burned on the arm when the man hurled the coffee at her Tuesday morning inside the West Philadelphia shop.

The attack was caught on a store surveillance camera. In the video, the man claims to have paid for his sandwich, then takes the cup from the clerk’s hand and throws it at her, eliciting a screech of pain.

Others in the store confront the man but he makes it out of the shop.

Police say the clerk suffered severe burns in the attack. They’re asking anyone who recognizes the man to come forward.
