Team North is once again “flocking” the front yards of Poland this May to raise awareness for Poland’s upcoming Relay for Life.

The crowd of plastic flamingos is earned by any family offering a donation to the Team North Relay fund. Throughout the next month, anyone who donates will receive new pink friends in their yard for a day.

The flockings are led by two North staff members, known by their aliases “Blackbird” and “Sunflower.” To bring excitement to the project, the duo flocked the front yard of North Elementary on April 19.

“The flamingo flock has become a fun tradition for the students of the school. Our flocking team really enjoys surprising the students with yard decorations,” Blackbird said.

This will mark the fourth year Team North has participated in Poland’s Relay, and has raised more than $20,000 in their first three years of the event. The team consists of students, parents and staff members.

To support the team, anyone can make a donation to Poland’s Relay through Team North by sending checks, payable to the American Cancer Society, to Poland North Elementary School, 361 Johnston Place, Poland, OH 44514.
