Brother of man in cop killing ordered to trial

GREENSBURG, Pa. (AP) — The brother of a man who killed a western Pennsylvania police officer has been ordered to stand trial on charges including hindering apprehension for allegedly helping him elude capture for an earlier shooting.

Investigators say Chad Post helped his brother during a 10-day period before Charles Post fatally shot Lower Burrell police Officer Derek Kotecki on October 12.

Chad Post and two others were held for trial Thursday on charges they aided Charles Post despite knowing he was wanted for attempted murder after shooting at his boss on Oct. 2.

Charles Post died in an exchange of gunfire with officers after shooting Kotecki as the officer tried to take him into custody in a restaurant parking lot.
