The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s 2012-13 season of concerts at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in New Castle will include a Beatles tribute band, PSO Music Director Manfred Honeck conducting works by Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky, and the music of Oscar-winning composer John Williams.

This will be the 12th season of PSO performances at the venue at 110 E. Lincoln Ave. Three-concert subscription prices range from $33 to $150 ($24 for students). Call 800-743-8560, or go to pittsburghsymphony.org/src. All concerts start at 8 p.m.

The season opens with the Beatles tribute concert, Classical Mystery Tour, Nov. 19. Jim Owen, Tony Kishman, John Bros- nan and Chris Camilleri play John, Paul, George and Ringo and pay tribute to the first rock album to win the Grammy for Album of the Year, “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” Leading the PSO in this concert will be its new assistant conductor, Fawzi Haimor.

Honeck will lead the PSO in a Feb. 16, 2013, concert featuring Russian pianist Denis Matsuev as guest soloist.

The season concludes May 23, 2013, when Resident Conductor Lawrence Loh leads the orchestra in the music of John Williams. Williams has penned music for “Jaws,” “Star Wars” and “Raiders of the Lost Ark.”
