Crown Theater Productions will present “The Man in the Iron Mask” for six performances this weekend and next at Main Street Theater, 5 N. Main St.
The story takes place in Paris during the reign of King Louis XIV in 1622 and is based on the novel written by Alex Dumas.
It chronicles the last event in which the famous Musketeers — Athos (Erich Offenburg), Porthos (Brian Moore), Aramis (Tom Kusiowski) and Dartangan (Dan Haueter) — come together to fight for justice and freedom.
“Iron Mask” has a cast of 20 and includes sword fights, a royal ball and a daring rescue. Seventeenth-century costumes and sets will provide the backdrop.
“This show is action-packed and details the strong bond between the Musketeers and their loyalty to justice and truth,” said Haueter, one of the show’s co-directors. The production will include video projection, special sound effects and original music written by Jim Couchenour, also a co-director of the show.
On Mother’s Day, Sunday, the Encore Room at Main Street Theater will offer a free dessert to all show attendees.
