Coroner IDs body found along CSX tracks

YOUNGSTOWN
The Mahoning County Coroner’s Office has identified the man whose partial-skeletal remains were found Monday along CSX railroad tracks as Roosevelt Davenport, 66, of Youngstown, who was reported missing in February.
A CSX conductor told police he found a dead man with a revolver in his right hand during a routine inspection of the railroad tracks off Wilson Avenue near the Himrod Expressway bridge over the Mahoning River at 11:38 a.m. Monday.
Preliminary examination found no evidence of trauma, and the cause and manner of death remain under investigation, according to Dr. Joseph S. Ohr, forensic pathologist and deputy coroner.
Investigators found a wallet in the deceased’s pants pocket containing Davenport’s driver’s license. Surgical repair of the skull and dental findings are consistent with the identification of Davenport, the coroner’s office said Tuesday.
The deceased was wearing blue work boots, a bluish-gray jacket, blue work pants and a red shirt.
Youngstown detectives, the crime lab and coroner’s investigator Courtney Bouchie were dispatched to the scene. Detective Darryl Martin is investigated the case.
