Wilson school under lockdown as suspect arrested


YOUNGSTOWN — One person was taken into custody by the Mahoning County Violent Crimes Task Force this afternoon after a two-hour standoff at an apartment in the 2600 block of Homestead Avenue.

During the standoff, Woodrow Wilson Middle School was under lockdown, police said.

Adam Carson, 29, of Homestead Avenue, was arrested this afternoon on two counts of bank robbery out of Ashtabula County. He was arrested at his home, a joint effort by the FBI, the task force, the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office, Orwell Police Department, and Youngstown police.
