Science and religion differ
It’s official, science has de- termined that swearing and any vulgarity is good for your health. That being the case, this country must be the healthiest on the planet. Why even our kids, when they swear, and they do, will now be stronger and live longer. Now everyone including our kids can watch anything and pay no attention to the language being used. The F-word can be uttered without restraint by grownups and young alike for the sake of their health. The movie labels of “R” can be restructured, or even be completely ignored, or better still be done away with altogether. And no one should be offended by any swear words that come out of anyone’s mouth under any circumstances since science has changed the moral code in the language category.
Now, to the truth of the matter, in the moral sense. All nonbelievers in God will not want to read the following or even care what is written. It is going to deal with God’s word about vulgarity — using one of His own as an example. The story is told in Matthew 26, when Jesus was going to be crucified, that Peter was approached about being one of His followers. Guess what happened. Peter, of all people, denied he even knew the man. He didn’t do this just once, but three times. But the third time is where we want to put our attention due the fact that Peter proved he was not a follower of Jesus to those who questioned him by using vulgar language. Matthew 26:74 reports that Peter “began to curse and swear, saying ‘I do not know the man’.” But, the ending is even more revealing. In verse 75, Peter shows his true actions. We must be the follower of Peter in the latter sense and then we too will be the followers in the real sense.
So it is easy to see why science and this country, as a whole, doesn’t see anything wrong with vulgarity, since morals are long forgotten by the majority. So, join Peter and cuss your hearts out and prove to all that you are not a follower of Jesus Christ, or change your ways and control your mouth, which is, according to scripture, the hardest thing to control [James 3:8]. Amen.
