The city reported a break-in at a electrical substation behind the General Electric plant at 403 North Main St. on Sunday afternoon that resulted in copper wire being cut and stolen.
As much as 50 feet of ground wire was taken from transformers over night, a city employee reported. A triangular-shaped piece of fence was cut to gain access to the transformers, police said.
FBI captures fugitive

Terrance A. Tarver, 38, one of the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force’s “Top 5 Most Wanted” was arrested Monday by the Atlanta office of the FBI.
Tarver was sought by the task force based on an arrest warrant issued by the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio, charging him with conspiracy to traffic in heroin, cocaine, and marijuana.
The fugitive investigation was a cooperative effort between the violent crimes task force, FBI, and the Youngstown branch of the Drug Enforcement Agency, according to a press release from the Mahoning Valley Violent Crimes Task Force.
Open house to mark Senior Corps Week

Police say suspect drove car into group
WARREN
Police apprehended a woman who drove her car into a group of people in the driveway of a house at 2161 Hamilton St. SW about 5:20 p.m. Monday, injuring a 7-month-old boy and three women.
Witnesses said there was an argument among three women and then the driver of a car who was in the street drove over a curb and into the driveway, hitting the child, women and two cars in the driveway.
The boy was in a stroller at the time. Witnesses said it didn’t appear that the baby was badly injured, even though his stroller was stuck under one of the cars just after the accident.
Police were able to track down the woman at her house on Jackson Street Southwest.
Resurfacing work
East Palestine
The Ohio Department of Transportation will begin resurfacing work Monday on state Route 170.
Route 170 will be resurfaced from the village’s southern border to state Route 165, and state Route 46 will be resurfaced from Route 170 to the village’s western border. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.
ODOT’s contractor for this $487,202 project is The Shelly Co. from Thornville, and the completion date is July 31.
