There are a few places still open in a concealed-carry class planned from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at United Veterans of America, 717 Belmont Ave. Hubbard Conservation Club is co-sponsor.
The National Rifle Association basic pistol class meets requirements to apply for a concealed-carry license.
The 12-hour courses include two evenings of classroom instruction and range time.
The course is for novices and those with firearms experience. The state requires 12 hours of instruction for a CCL.
All materials, ammunition and use of target handguns will be supplied at a cost of $95 per student.

Public interview set for candidate for superintendent
CANFIELD
Canfield Board of Education will host a public interview at 4 p.m. today where superintendent candidate Alex Geordan will go before a panel composed of members of the Mahoning County Educational Services Center and Finding Leaders, a Cleveland-based firm contracted by MCESC to assist with the district’s superintendent search.
The interview is in the Canfield High School cafeteria.
