Local conceal-carry classes begin Wednesday in Niles

NILES — There are a few places still open in a concealed-carry class planned from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at United Veterans of America, 717 Belmont Ave. Hubbard Conservation Club is co-sponsor.

The National Rifle Association basic pistol class meets requirements to apply for a concealed-carry license. The 12-hour courses include two evenings of classroom instruction and range time.

The course is for novices and those with firearms experience. The state requires 12 hours of instruction for CCL. All materials, ammunition and use of target handguns will be supplied at a cost of $95 per student.
