Players who have heart will tee off for the AHA

YOUNGSTOWN

Area celebrity and NFL star Tom Cousineau will tee off with participants at the American Heart Association’s 2012 Annual Golf Classic Scramble, to be June 6 at the Youngstown Country Club, 1402 Country Club Drive.

A shotgun start will kick off the 18-hole, four-person scramble event. A fee of $250 per person and $1,0000 for a team of four includes lunch at 11:30 a.m., golf carts, refreshments on the course and an awards reception immediately after play.

Team and individual prizes will be available, including a cash prize of $25,000 for the first hole-in-one provided by the event chairmen, Dr. Michael Burley and Joe Valvo. Another first hole-in-one prize includes a 2012 Cadillac CTS provided by Stadium GM, and a closest-to-the-pin prize will be provided by Caleena Fine Jewelers of Warren. Other monetary prizes will be awarded at the end of the day.

Proceeds from the outing will benefit the American Heart Association’s cardiovascular research, educational and advocacy programs in the community. To register for the Golf Classic Scramble, call the AHA at 330-965-9230.
