CORTLAND

Mackenzie Kiser belted a 2-run home run and finished with four RBIs leading Champion (16-2, 9-0 AAC). Darian Rogers and Sierra Blackson each had a double, while Brooke Culler knocked a triple that scored a pair of runs. Hailee Gardiner picked up her first win of the season and struck out 10 batters. T.J. Garcia had the only hit for Campbell.

Western Reserve 2-8,

East Palestine 1-11

BERLIN CENTER

Sissy Stubbs pitched a four-hitter in Western Reserve’s opening-game win, while East Palestine’s Karly Pence had a no-walk, seven-strikeout six-hitter. To decide the outcome, Marley Oles opened the seventh with a single, followed by run-scoring singles by Alexis Little and Hannah Mowrey. Logan Gatchel had a double and single and Carly Blair had a double for East Palestine. A nine-run fifth inning settled the score in the second game, when Erin Hughes had a double and three RBIs, while Logan Gatchel and Desiree Walker both had three singles and two RBIs for East Palestine (16-6). Also as part of the Bulldogs’ 15-hit attack, Emily Duncan had three singles and an RBI, Dana Walter had three singless and Nicole Kiehl had a double and an RBI. For Western Reserve (18-5), April Lude had a home run and double and two RBIs, Hannah Mowrey had a double and two RBIs and Alexis Little had a double.

Girard 19-11, Fitch 11-7

Nikki Mazzella had two triples and two singles for seven RBIs and Kylie Kulon had a triple and two singles for Girard. For Fitch, Megan Carney had two triplesand a single for five RBIs, Cali Mikovich had a double and two singles and two RBIs, Alex Corradi had two singles and two RBIs and Tori Wise had a single and an RBI. In the second game, Morgan Walters had four singles and an RBI and Neco Maderitz had three singles and two RBIs for Girard (20-6). Megan Carney had three singles, while Tori Wise, Chelsea Raymer, Christine Holmes and Cali Mikovich had a single apiece for Fitch (9-13).

Parma Heights Holy Name 5, Mooney 3

CHARDON

Mooney out-hit both opponents, but came up on the short end of the score at The Lion Invitational at Notre Dame Cathedral Latin. Against Parma Heights Holy Name (15-3), Angela Penza, Shannon Saadey and Katrina Larson all doubled, but the Cardinals stranded nine runners. Holy Name benefitted from Brittany Dell’s fifth-inning triple. Against Cathedral Latin, Larson’s two-run homer gave Mooney an early lead, but Jillian Miller’s two-run single keyed a fourth-inning rally by the Lions (18-4). Simone Zeoli’s three hits and Katelyn Kowalczyk’s two hits paced Mooney (10-14), which plays Struthers on Tuesday in the Div. II sectional tournament.

Late Friday

Mooney 13, Harding 5

Simone Zeoli and Katrina Larson hits home runs, and sophomore Molly McQuillan had a triple. Sophomore Tiffany Komara was the winning pitcher and sophomore Giana Musolino got the save.
