Chwaliks mark 60th anniversary with their family

FOSTORIA, OHIO

Chester and Dorothy Chwalik, formerly of Campbell and now residing in Fostoria, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 29.

The Chwaliks have five children: Ann Marie Jones of Fostoria; Matthew G. Chwalik of Tiffin, Ohio; Susan Doe of Fostoria; David M. Chwalik of Delaware, Ohio; and Chester A. Chwalik Jr. of Folsom, Calif.

They were honored during a morning Mass at St. Wendelin Church, where they are members, and received a blessing from the pastor, the Rev. Nicholas Weibl,

Their son Chester Jr. provided piano music.

The couple also have 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

After a ride around town in a limousine the couple were guests of honor at a reception in the private room at KemoSabes Roadhouse Grill in Fostoria.

Mr. Chwalik retired from P&LE-NY Central Railroad and as superintendant of utilities for the City of Fostoria. He also served in the Army in the Korean War. He is a member of Knights of Columbus, AMVETS Post 69, VFW and the Polish National Alliance.

Mrs. Chwalik, the former Dorothy Laicharoff, retired from Foodtown in Fostoria as a cashier and is a homemaker. She is a member of Daughters of Isabella and the Memorial Choir.

After receiving permission from the Catholic Church to marry during Lent, the couple were married on March 29, 1952, at St. John Church, Campbell, before Mr. Chwalik deployed to Korea.
