Trumbll prison workers receive honors

LEAVITTSBURG

Sy Smallwood has been named corrections officer of the year, and Beverly Righetti is employee of the year at the Trumbull Correctional Institution.

“Sy and Beverly both exhibit the department’s core values of integrity, leadership, excellence and accountability,” Warden Benny Kelly said. “They are true professionals.”

Smallwood will compete with other statewide corrections officers of the year to receive the Ronald C. Marshall Award as corrections officer of the year for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections.
