Lisa S. Brown of Youngstown and John Whitman of Columbus are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Sierra Whitman, and Aaron Thomas, both of Austintown. He is the son of Anthony and Michele Thomas of Youngstown.

Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in Youngstown will be the site of the couple’s June 9 wedding. A reception will follow at the Byzantine Center at the Grove, also in Youngstown. Invitations will be extended for the ceremony and reception.

The bride-to-be graduated from Youngstown State University with an accounting degree and attends Franklin University, where she is expecting to obtain a master’s in business administration in December. She is employed by Huntington Bank in Youngstown.

The prospective groom attended YSU, where he studied exercise science. He is employed by Federal Express in Youngstown.
