Project to fill gap in Idaho Road
Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN
Mahoning County commissioners voted to advertise for bids for the Idaho Road reconstruction project in Austintown.
This project, estimated to cost $750,000, will fill a gap in Idaho Road just north of New Road and install a traffic light at Idaho and New roads.
It will allow through traffic on Idaho Road and facilitate school bus access to the main Austintown schools complex.
Annemarie DeAscentis, county budget specialist, said she hopes the work can be completed during this summer, and the road fully opened before the new school year starts.
The project is being funded by Austintown Township, the county engineer’s office, the Ohio Public Works Commission, the Ohio School Facilities Commission and federal Community Development Block Grant money.
