POLICE CALLS

A summary of recent criminal activity in Girard and Liberty:

GIRARD

April 26

Arrest: Police searching for a girl in Tod Park who had run away arrested a 16-year-old Girard boy wanted on a warrant from the Trumbull County 911 center.

April 27

Burglary: To a residence in the 600 block of East Broadway Avenue after someone pried open a door. Stolen were $2,500 worth of jewelry and a laptop computer.

Identity fraud: A Trumbull Avenue man told police the Internal Revenue Service informed him that someone had used his Social Security number and a W-2 form to file income taxes.

Criminal damaging: Police on the roof of a North State Street store found that two coaxial cables had been deliberately cut.

Theft: A Lawrence Avenue woman reported 120 pills were taken from her home.

Theft: The front license plate was removed from a vehicle in the 400 block of Joan Avenue.

April 28

Menacing: A Girard girl, 14, said a friend posted private online messages that contained numerous threats.

Weapon: An East Liberty Street man found an arrow, likely from a crossbow, imbedded just below his bedroom window.

April 29

Drugs: Officers responding to a possible drug overdose in the 700 block of North St. Clair Avenue found a male lying in a bathtub before recovering two Xanax pills. Family members brought to police four syringes, one of which had possible heroin residue, a report said.

Menacing: A Lawrence Avenue woman said a neighbor chased and threatened her son.

Theft: A man reportedly stole a $300 tattoo machine from the Glass House, 16 N. State St.

April 30

Criminal mischief: A front window to a building in the 10 block of North Market Street was smashed. The estimate was $500.

Menacing: Two people moving from a residence in the 100 block of West Second Street reported having been threatened with bodily harm.

Attempted auto theft: A woman on Tod Park Avenue noticed a hair pin jammed into her Saturn vehicle’s ignition, apparently done in an effort to steal the car.

Burglary: Occurred in the 100 block of Morris Avenue via a window. A $500 laptop computer and a $200 item were stolen.

May 1

Criminal mischief: Someone tried to damage a newspaper box belonging to a West Liberty Street restaurant.

LIBERTY

April 25

Theft: The rear license plate was stolen from a motor home in the 20 block of Scott Lane.

Theft: Gregory L. Davenport, 39, of 2417 Elm St., Youngstown, was charged with stealing $46 worth of merchandise from Citi Trends, 3479 Belmont Ave.

Arrest: Boardman police and members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force brought 28-year-old Darres J. Jackson, 749 Cambridge Ave., Youngstown, to Liberty, where he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

April 26

Burglary: To a home in the 1300 block of West Montrose Street, apparently through a garage window. An air compressor and a lawn mower were removed from the garage.

Breaking and entering: Someone pried open a rear door to a vacant residence in the 300 block of Yvonne Drive before stealing an undetermined amount of copper piping.

Theft: An elderly Kris Drive woman discovered a bottle of Methadone tablets missing from her home.

Breaking and entering: The water heater was removed from a residence in the 10 block of Kris Lane after someone had broken in through a rear window and damaged an interior wall.

Theft: A $300 pistol was taken from a home in the 10 block of East Park Circle.

Drugs: A traffic stop near Fifth Avenue led to 29-year-old Gary A. Walker’s arrest on a charge of marijuana possession. Walker, of 15 Indiana Ave., Youngstown, had 3 grams of suspected marijuana in his vehicle and more than 1 gram of suspected marijuana on his person, police said.

April 27

Identity fraud: An East Liberty Street woman learned that her debit-card number was used online to make 14 unauthorized transactions, including some overseas, totaling $386.

Theft: A $200 chain saw was removed from a garage in the 1600 block of Shannon Road.

Breaking and entering: Someone broke into a garage in the 600 block of Underwood Drive before stealing numerous tools, including a spray gun and several wrenches.

Drugs: Julia L. Flick, 27, of 323 Lisbon St., Canfield, faced a misdemeanor count of possession of dangerous drugs after authorities pulled her over near Fifth Avenue. A police dog revealed two half pills thought to be Suboxone, a report showed.

Breaking and entering: A weed trimmer was taken from a shed in the 600 block of Underwood Drive.

Arrest: Officers conducting a traffic stop on North Gate Road charged 30-year-old Toccare N. Evans, 3031 North Gate, Liberty, with driving under suspension and obstructing official business after saying Evans had provided a false last name.

April 28

Criminal damaging: A Lakeview Drive woman accused her former boyfriend, of Sharon, Pa., of doing $100 in damage to a window screen at her home.

Arrest: A 17-year-old Youngstown boy was charged with driving under suspension and obstructing official business when, police said, he gave them a false name and date of birth during a traffic stop near Colonial Drive.

April 29

Damage: A Green Acres Drive woman told police another woman used a hammer to break the accuser’s rear windshield during a fight between the two.

Arrest: Police in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue picked up 50-year-old Lisa M. Coney, 716 Magnolia Ave., Youngstown. She was accused of failing to appear in court on a theft charge.

Stalking: An Underwood Drive woman reported her former landlord, of Niles, drove past the residence about four times in a half-hour period.

Breaking and entering: Someone forced open the rear sliding-glass door to a vacant residence in the 300 block of Goldie Road, though no property appeared to be missing.

Arrests: Police at the Mahoning County jail took custody of 26-year-old Jessica C. Kiehl, 44490 state Route 517, Columbiana, and 31-year-old Sydney D. Machelle, 253 Alameda Ave., Youngstown. Kiehl was wanted on drug charges; Machelle was accused of failing to appear for a violation-of-probation hearing.

April 30

Arrest: Erika Bunch, 42, of 304 E. Ravenwood Ave., Youngstown, was arraigned in Girard Municipal Court after having been picked up on a township warrant.

Theft: A Cincinnati man alleged the son of a deceased Yvonne Drive woman stole a trailer, a weed trimmer and a leaf blower from the woman’s estate.

May 1

Assault/menacing: A West Farmington woman alleged an intoxicated Beverly Hills Drive man pushed her into a wall after having placed an unloaded semiautomatic handgun to her head during an argument.
